Avery Dennison has shared a glimpse into its 2024 UHF RFID release plan with the debut of inlay product family, AD Burst. The new design family is optimized for apparel and retail use and features the Impinj M800 series IC, enabling global performance for high speed inventory accuracy. In addition, the company’s classic design, AD Miniweb, has been re-tuned and upgraded with the M830 IC from the Seattle-based manufacturer of RFID devices and software.
AD Burst is the next generation of Avery Dennison’s widely recognized and long-standing design family, combining both AD Belt and AD-23x. Offered in both paper and PET antenna carrier formats, the globally tuned antenna carries a slimmer footprint than its predecessor and is available for immediate sampling in both M830 (128-bit EPC) and M850 (96-bit EPC, 32-bit user memory) chip options.
AD Burst is the first UHF RFID inlay family to enhance the company’s expansive portfolio and feature the Impinj M800 series IC. The inlay has been designed to achieve outstanding performance in a wide range of apparel, general retail, and industrial applications. The unique design exhibits a 70 x 10.5 mm antenna size, generating more inlays per roll and thereby reducing the number of roll changes during the converting process. AD Burst is available in multiple delivery formats including dry inlay, wet inlay, and pressure sensitive label.
In addition to AD Burst, Avery Dennison has also upgraded its legacy Miniweb design with the Impinj M830 IC. The next generation variant exhibits stronger global performance than previous models, yet retains its 42 x 16 mm size to accommodate the tagging of smaller items in the apparel, general retail, and logistics segments.
The main benefits of the AD Burst and AD Miniweb M800 series include:
- Outstanding performance for use in the apparel, general retail, and logistics space
- Strong versatility on a variety of dielectrics to support Industrial applications
- Multiple inlay formats available
- Popular antenna size converts well into traditional media including hang tags, labels and tickets
- Two memory configuration options:
Impinj M830: 128-bit EPC, 0-bits user memory
Impinj M850: 96-bit EPC, 32-bits of user memory
- ISO/IEC 18000-63:2015 and EPCglobal Gen2v2 compliant
- Recommended solution for multiple applications and use-cases, such as apparel, shoes, home goods, electronics, sporting goods, and other general merchandise
- Fully tested and validated in accordance with Avery Dennison high quality standards
