The Maxdura™ Turtle at 28x28mm is a high-temperature on-metal hard tag that utilizes the NXP UCODE® 7xm Integrated Circuit (IC). Designed specifically for the automotive production line, it is capable of following a car throughout the manufacturing process, including the paint shop.
It offers superior performance over UHF tags on metal surfaces in paint shop applications, and responds to a specific need to track automotive chassis and other metal parts all the way through the production process. The tag is rated for up to three 10-minute heat cycles of up to 250°C.
The Maxdura™ Case with its compact size of 50 x 50mm for UHF applications, in contrast, builds on Smartrac’s existing high-temperature HF hard tags to withstand up to 1,000 heat cycles. It is a very robust high-temperature hard tag, suitable for use in a holder or spacer for challenging metallic applications such as the skids used in automotive paint shop systems.
This UHF hard tag offers high resistance to harsh environmental conditions, which in addition to high temperatures includes mechanical stress and most chemicals. It has been designed to withstand 200°C for 60 minutes, 220°C for 45 minutes, and 240°C for 30 minutes. Furthermore, it resists acetone, 5% sodium carbonate, 5% saltwater, 5% fresh water, 5% acetic acid and 60% ethyl alcohol. In addition, vibration and shock resistance have been verified to conform to IEC 86.2.6 and IEC 68.2.29.
The Maxdura™ Bond, at 29 x 58mm with the Impinj Monza® 4QT IC is a dedicated on-metal hard tag, which is attached directly to the metal surface without the need for a spacer or holder. This general-purpose tag is fixed to an object with an adhesive, so is ideally suited to item-level tracking and asset management within industrial environments.
Smartrac RAIN RFID hard tags provide reliable read range and excellent performance. The tags contribute to process acceleration, efficiency gains and the optimized tracking and tracing of goods and parts. Due to their high resistance, they are very well suited to tap the benefits of passive RFID in harsh environments and demanding industrial applications.
Smartrac’s inlays and tags are compliant with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management, which ensure a reliable and state-of-the-art product that meets a variety of application needs, enhancing RFID usage for difficult-to-tag materials.
