Bill Toney leads Avery Dennison’s global food solutions team with the goal to enable digital connectivity for any food item, ensuring greater control over food freshness, quality, and traceability. His primary focus is on driving the adoption of technology and automation throughout the food supply chain, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and sustainability while ensuring food safety and reducing waste.
Prior to this role, Bill lead Avery Dennison’s global RFID market development team with the goal of accelerating market adoption worldwide. His primary focus was on measuring the business impact that sensor technology e.g. RFID & digital products has on retail transformation across the general retail sector. Bill has 28 years of experience in emerging technology, innovation & retail operations including senior vice president, omnichannel fulfillment solutions at eBay Enterprise & executive general manager at MarineMax.
Bill graduated from Baldwin Wallace University with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Marketing and received his Master of Business Administration in Business Strategy from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University, where he also is a Big Data advisory board member. He is also pursuing his research PhD in Business and Strategy at Oklahoma State University.
