Sustainable tags and inlays
Industry segments: Apparel & Fashion, Healthcare, Industrial Applications, Logistics
At Avery Dennison Smartrac we are committed to helping our customers achieve their sustainability objectives, as well as our own. This includes developing RFID inlays and labels with an ultra-low carbon footprint, made using recyclable materials, and delivering entirely plastic-free solutions. By 2030 our product innovation roadmap will deliver a sustainable alternative choice for every label in our portfolio.
Pure™ Line
Pure™ Line RFID inlays and labels are circular ready. Made using ultra low carbon footprint processes, they are 95% or 100% plastic free and recyclable at end of life when attached or embedded on paper and cardboard items*.
*In Europe tested successfully for paper recyclability by third party laboratory, PTS-RH 021:97/2012 method. In the US certified for paper recyclability by West Michigan University (WMU), SBS-E Part I (repulpability) and Part II (Recyclability). How2Recycle® has “pre-qualified1” the RFID construction when applied to a paper hangtag and determined that the structure is eligible for a widely recyclable label.
Up to 90% lower carbon
For RFID labels the etching manufacturing process is the major source of the carbon emissions. Pure™ Line plastic free antennas use innovative manufacturing technologies reducing their carbon footprint between 70-90%**.
**Emissions are measured as part of the Pure™ line Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) type III Environmental Production Declaration (EPD) - according to ISO 14020 by Thinkstep (a Sphera company) - 2021.
1Additional components, product application, or other attributes may change the final recyclability of the package.
