Making an impact on food waste

According to Project Drawdown, a comprehensive ranked list of 100 climate change solutions, food waste was identified as the #1 solution. That is not surprising when considering food waste is responsible for roughly 8% of global GHG emssions. A detailed picture of what is taking place within the food supply chain is essential for improvement, and traceability plays a central role. Digital technologies are emerging to enable traceability and reduce waste that are both cost effective and scalable. RFID can help minimise some of the food waste challenges while also reducing operational expenses and improving efficiences.
