Following the success of a tremendous partnership over the past few years, Avery Dennison RFID will collaborate with Sport Zone, the largest sports retail company in Portugal, on its initial adoption of RFID. Sport Zone will begin a full rollout of Avery Dennison RFID solutions, starting September 2016.
Avery Dennison has offered integrated branding solutions for Sport Zone, in addition to launching its RFID pilot program in April 2015. The program enabled the successful deployment of some of the most innovative RFID solutions including source tagging, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) integrations. With Avery Dennison’s RFID technology, Sport Zone is able to enhance supply chain management and improve the overall retail customer experience.
In a joint partnership with Tyco Retail Solutions, we launched the pilot with Sport Zone by incorporating RFID solutions in apparel and footwear in two stores. And Sport Zone has seen the results firsthand: 99 percent stock accuracy; 92 percent reduction in stock counting efforts; 90 percent reduction in receiving efforts; and a significant sales lift.
As part of the rollout, initially to 10 stores, with eventual plans to extend to all 120 stores, we’ll continue to innovate by providing soft tag RFID for all the different product categories, in addition to integrating its solutions with Sport Zone’s IT system.
“We are thrilled that our collaboration and successful pilot program with Sport Zone has evolved to an adoption of Avery Dennison’s leading RFID solutions,” said Francisco Melo, vice president and general manager of Global RFID at Avery Dennison. “As a global leader in RFID technology, we are committed to growing our partnership with Sport Zone, helping to elevate its operations, maximize its efficiencies, and improve the consumer experience.”
