Our Foundation: A Tradition of Innovation
When R. Stanton Avery invented the first pressure-sensitive label in 1935, he not only founded a company, he launched an industry. In the more than 70 years since, that company has continued to grow and to develop other notable "firsts," including the first peel-and-stick postage stamp in 1974, the first "print-your-own" label in 1988 and, in 2005, the first content-insensitive RFID inlay.
Today, Avery Dennison is a Fortune 500 company with 2007 sales of $6.3 billion and a global leader in pressure-sensitive labeling materials, office products and retail tag, ticketing and branding systems.
What We Offer
Avery Dennison RFID Division is among the Company’s diverse portfolio of industrial and consumer products businesses. We leverage Avery Dennison’s expertise in high volume, roll-to-roll manufacturing and production of multi-layered electronic labels to produce high-quality RFID inlays – the critical link in any RFID system.
To help assure that our inlays will perform despite RF challenges such as difficult carton contents, awkward read angles and a variety of manufacturing and retail environments, we conduct comprehensive real-world testing at our dedicated technical center.
In addition, we work with industry leaders throughout the RFID value chain, including micro-chip and hardware manufacturers, to maximize the compatibility of the inlays we produce. Our strong working relationship with a network of qualified RFID label converters [US, Asia Pacific] also helps to ensure a high-quality, high-yield RFID label that will consistently perform for end users in the real world.
